there are several. this page is basically a link to other peoples' web pages, so if you're one of those people who frequently says 'oh, i guess you had to be there', then go away now. you won't enjoy this.
Protocol Plus is run by two of my instructors at GR Tech, Linda Schur and Sherry Chartrand. they're smart, funny women. Linda is an amazing web page designer, and Sherry is a former graphics artist turned network administrator.
Eric Seaton is a good friend of mine, and has been for the last five years. he's currently attending Camosun College, going for his degree in something business-like. and he works at the victoria freenet (at the time of this update, anyway. things change, you know). he's a great role-player, and is at the tail end of writing his own RPG. he also plays doom and warcraft. i think those are games. i don't really know.
Devin Brown is a guy I met in class this year who knows everything there is to know about computer hardware. he's a bloody genius. he likes cars and music: people like greenday and the cranberries and alanis morisette. hey, i didn't say we had anything in common; just that i admire him.
Elizabeth I was a queen of England some time ago. she never married, as a result of seeing her father's marriages disintegrate. talk about a dysfunctional childhood, eh? she was a tough old broad, though, and if i could go back in time and meet anyone i wanted, she'd be my first choice. she's dead now, by the way.
Donatien Alphonse de Sade, who was persecuted, framed, and slandered, and yet persevered through terrible odds. i've read some of his work, and it's... thought-provoking. he's actually a terrible writer, but his philosophies are very interesting. there's a surreal movie out there called Marquis that sort of echos his style, and tells about his life in prison. it's cleverly done. french, with english subtitles. but if you're easily offended, don't look for it. in fact, if you're easily offended, don't read anything he's written, either.
Oliver Stone, for his work on natural born killers. yes, it's a graphically bloody movie, but it points out a very clear message about society today. we're obsessed with tragedy. and yes, i buy into it. i prefer stories where the bad guy wins, or the hero dies. but more than that, the cinematography for NBK is amazing. it's potent, and surreal, and generally a neat movie to watch. same warning as for the marquis' stuff, though - if you're easily disgusted, please don't watch this movie.
(yes, there are more... i just haven't got to them yet.)
